He who keeps you will not slumber. — Psalm 121:3

What would occur if God's thoughts strayed? Think about Colossians 1:17, which states that "all things consist" in Christ. This implies that the Son of God binds everything together and keeps our universe in motion by the exercise of His providence. As a result, trees would fall to the ground if His thoughts wandered. Oceans would erupt with water. The planets would launch into space in a spinning motion. No one would hear or respond to prayers. And those He defends would be left open to the enemy's attack.

But that is unimaginable. Why? Because the God who never sleeps is constantly keeping an eye on our world—and us—(Ps. 121:3–4). His concern and attention are always focused on us. We are safe because we worship and serve a God whose thoughts are always on purpose.

We can relax knowing that God is thinking of us. I am confident that God's goodness and care will always be there for me, helping me along the way and making every day better.
