To start with, the members of the church Jesus established in Corinth made many mistakes. For another, he spent multiple terms in prison. Imagine a picture of loss if you add in the shipwrecks, beatings, and betrayals (2 Cor. 11:23–27). However, Paul's ministry is recognised for its resounding accomplishments. 

Let's practise putting our mistakes behind us. We don't have to give up because of God's kindness (2 Cor. 4:1).

Our suffering is leading us to an everlasting splendour that will surpass all of our suffering. 

While God is still at work in us, we have hope because of this "hope of glory." We shall be like Him and reflect His beauty when we pass from this life and see Christ in person.

 Names express something about who we are and how we relate to other people. The Messiah said, "The Lord has called Me from the womb;... He has made mention of My name" (Isa. 49:1) before He was born. That illustrated the unique bond between God the Father and the Messiah. 

The fact that this friendship is extended to us via Jesus makes it much more thrilling. We who believe in Christ's finished work on the cross to atone for our sins have been accepted into God's family (Rom. 8:15; Eph. 1:5). Christ addresses us by name when we put our faith in Him to be our Saviour and Lord (Jn. 10:3).

What an honour! And how consoling that is for all of us who put our confidence in Him! God's love for us is beyond our comprehension. He has promised to never abandon us (Jn. 10:27–30).

I've witnessed some people come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour by gently guiding those who have fallen prey to religious deception. We give God the opportunity to lead the misguided person to repent and acknowledge the truth when we gently attempt to correct them.
