Inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me. — Matthew 25:40

A leper was reportedly begging for money by the side of the road one day when Francis of Assisi (1182-1226) was riding his horse. He got off his horse, gave him a penny, and gave him a cheek kiss. Francis turned around as he rode away and for a brief second believed that he saw Christ Himself standing where the beggar had been.

This anecdote serves to show a wonderful biblical truth: By helping someone in need, we serve the Lord. The kindness provided to the hungry, the thirsty, the homeless, the sickly, the poor, and the imprisoned will be judged as having been done directly to Him, Jesus stated in Matthew 25:40 and Matthew 25:45.

Serving the oppressed in His name is the same as serving Him because He identifies so strongly with them.

By assuming that ministers and missionaries are the only ones who can effectively serve Christ, we frequently limit our own service to him. But even though we cannot see Him, Jesus is always present anytime we provide assistance in the name of Jesus via acts of kindness. And one day, when we are before Him, He will remember the kind acts we have done in His name and congratulate us.

Let's continue to honour Him by helping others.

When we help those in need, we serve Christ. God's work goes beyond merely preaching; whatever we do, remember this principle:
Christ declares, "You have done it for Me!" in reference to actions carried out for His honour.

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him! — Psalm 34:8

I have faith that the Lord, in whom I put my trust, will extend to me the same grace that He has extended to millions of people who have nothing but Him. They can rejoice in the Lord and proclaim His goodness even when they are imprisoned for their religion, malnourished, shunned, or excruciatingly ill.

Could it be that their extreme poverty causes them to concentrate more on Christ?

Yes, whatever our circumstances, God is good. It's a lesson that we must all eventually learn.

God is good, even when everything seems horrible. O taste and see that God is kind to those who seek Him out; indeed, blessed are those who put their trust in Him and depend on His grace.

Godliness with contentment is great gain. — 1 Timothy 6:6

The word surrender is not particularly well-liked. We use it to refer to the shame that comes with losing. When a country loses a war, it could be required to surrender voluntarily with no influence over the terms of victory.

However, there is a respectful and fitting form of submission. Paul had two different perspectives on it. First, it entails giving our will and desires over to the divine Father. Jesus is our role model because He always carried out the Father's desire (Jn. 6:38).

Our acknowledgement of God's unrivalled sovereignty is the second factor. We become aware of the fact that life does not always go according to plan as God carries out His plan for the world. We experience both good and terrible periods in our business.

Our health could be harmed. Our loved ones may abandon us, injure us, or even pass away. Even the most wonderful dreams may never come true.

In a spiritual context, surrender implies faith in God's wisdom and judgement. It involves, as Paul stated in Philippians 4:11–12, choosing to be satisfied "in whatever state I am" and having faith that God would provide for our needs (v. 19). It's hard to have that type of faith. But doing so is the only way to get rid of resentment and rage over uncontrollable events.

Saying "I surrender" to the Lord and His perfect will and purpose may be appropriate at this moment.

When we give to God, it is victory. Take my love—my God, I pour it all at Thy feet; Take myself—I will be ever and only for Thee.

Without Me you can do nothing. — John 15:5

Almost all women enjoy receiving bouquets of fresh flowers. She smells and admires them before immediately putting them in water. They may be fresh and lovely when she receives them, but their time is limited. They will soon wilt and perish since their source of life has been cut off. She will eventually have to discard them.

If a branch had the ability to communicate, it would not be sorry that it must rely on the vine to produce fruit.  Jesus also understood that we were created to depend entirely on Him as our source of life. Actually, this kind of reliance is the sole safeguard against becoming a "cut-flower Christian."

Accept His statement that "without Me you can do nothing."

Fruitfulness is a result of a close relationship with Christ. Lord, help me to be shattered, cleansed, filled, and kept adrift in You so that our relationship may be unbroken and Thy name may be honoured in me.

Though [Jesus] was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich. — 2 Corinthians 8:9

What exactly is selfless giving? The early churches in Macedonia established the standard for other churches in the first century. They gave not just what they could, but rather more than they could (2 Corinthians 8:3).

No one of us can give to the Lord's standard. He sacrificed everything in order to bring about our redemption. Think about that as you prepare to offer to God's work through prayer. How generous are you in comparison to God's standard?

Do you make selfless donations to your church?

What does the balance on your credit card or chequebook tell about the priorities you have with money?

Your giving standard is more significant than your living standard.

It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. — Lamentations 3:26

Sadness and sadness are the great levellers of life. They influence each of us differently.

Sometimes entire nations are affected. We were appalled by the devastation in Rwanda and Bosnia in 1994. And smaller-scale catastrophes like accidents, diseases, family dissolutions, and financial difficulties affect us all. Despite our own positive tendencies, sadness affects us all.

However, there is another aspect to this. We never lose hope, no matter how awful our lives may be, no matter if we are prone to depression and despair rather than happiness and joy.

This is so because life is not a series of coincidental events. The spiritual side of life can constantly be uplifted by the compassion, mercy, and grace of God.

Consider Lamentations 3 as an illustration.

Even though this section is drenched in the suffering of the Jerusalem residents, there is yet hope. The author incorporated mankind's best hope for a reason to live on—God's enormous love—among the details of the city's invasion, which included accounts of widespread bloodshed and destruction. The writer used God's compassion, constancy, goodness, and salvation to combat the suffering and melancholy (vv. 22–26).

It's amazing! God will never abandon us in despair, no matter what we may be going through.

Nobody who has faith in God is without hope. When tragedy strikes hard and snatches your days, when trouble tries to rob you of your very breath,

Remember that Christ bore the pain of death; He gives us hope and is deserving of all the praise we can muster.

"Death is swallowed up in victory." "O Death, where is your sting?" — 1 Corinthians 15:54-55

Even the most devout Christian will experience the valley of the shadow of death if Jesus doesn't return. This is a sombre idea.

We are terrified of meeting God because we can only imagine what He is like. However, we can also be glad. Death has been vanquished because of Jesus Christ's atoning death and resurrection. We are safe from harm.

Death need not be feared by those who fear God. What awe fills our sinful mind to think of God's holiness!

If Christ's death had not been our assurance, we could not endure such holy love.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. — Philippians 4:13

They sung hymns when Paul and Silas were held captive at Philippi and their backs were raw from beatings (Acts 16:23–25). Instead of the gloomy hues of despair, resentment, and melancholy, they opted for the cheery hue of praise.

We have the power to choose our response regardless of the condition or emergency we may be experiencing. We can resist painting our lives in the drab grey of complaining and grumbling with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Instead, since God's assistance is always available, our preferred colour can be the azure blue of contentment.

God decides what we experience; we decide how to handle it. He brings me happiness in place of sadness, love that drives out fear, sunshine for my shadow, and "beauty for ashes" in this location.

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you. — Isaiah 41:10

Looking back, I've come to the conclusion that it wasn't just quoting a verse from the Bible or reminding myself to have faith in God that got me through.  Jesus Christ, who had personally gone through a great deal of anguish and grief, was that Someone. In the form of the Holy Spirit, he was present.

Do you feel afraid right now? Let Isaiah 41:10 serve as a reminder that the Lord is with you.

When we are reminded that Jesus is beside us, fear will go. Because I am your God, I will still provide assistance. I will help you, strengthen you, and cause you to stand, supported by My kind, powerful hand. Do not be alarmed.

They departed . . . , rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name. — Acts 5:41

Similarly, the Lord never manifests His strength and grace at an inopportune moment or location, but He constantly gives in accordance with the need of the moment. He doesn't give you strength until you need it.

When we consider what some of God's children go through as a result of their loyalty to the Saviour, we cringe. Instead of taking the easiest route, many people have opted to endure great agony. Would we follow suit, I wonder?

Of course, the Lord does not demand that we commit to something before it is required. And if we must endure agony for His sake, we may be confident that He will give us whatever we need to do so.

As Christ's followers, we can take things one step at a time and have faith that the Lord's bridges of grace will be perfectly placed to give us safe passage to the other side whether we encounter a dried-up gulch or a raging torrent.

God extends us enough grace to get through each adversity. God strengthens you and me every day by sending his compassionate assistance; we must use today's resources and leave tomorrow's to itself.

Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us. — Hebrews 12:1

Athletes participating in races is one of the Bible's most vivid depictions of the Christian life. We learn that winning requires discipline in First Corinthians 9:24–27. Hebrews 12:1-2 exhorts us to set aside anything that might stand in the way of our spiritual growth and to keep our eyes fixed on Christ. Furthermore, the apostle Paul stated in Philippians 3:12–13, "I press on, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead."

Lord, help us to have patience while we speed through life. Help us to maintain discipline and abstain from bad behaviour instead of dwelling on our past mistakes.

The Bible uses the image of a racer as one of the most eloquent metaphors for the Christian life. Discipline is the secret of success, according to First Corinthians 9:24–27. We are urged to put aside all that might stand in the way of our spiritual growth and to keep our eyes fixed on Christ in Hebrews 12:1-2. In Philippians 3:12–13, the apostle Paul also stated, "I press on, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead."

Lord, help us to have endurance as we complete our life's race. Help us to be disciplined and to avoid following sinful practises rather than dwelling on previous mistakes.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart. — Psalm 51:17

You'll probably attend church on Sunday if you can. It comes fairly naturally to most Christians, and for good reason.

But is it conceivable that going to church to worship can be in vain? Can it all be for nothing?

Yes. Because of how we've lived over the week, the value of our worship can be diminished to zero before we even step foot inside the church.

The Lord had some harsh words in Amos 5 for individuals who tried to worship Him while carrying the burden of an unholy life with them. By worshipping fake gods, His people continually infuriated Him (v. 26). God scorned their hypocrisy when they gathered to worship the Lord with sacrifices and hymns.

God told His people in Isaiah 1 that they must stop doing evil, learn to do good, and pursue justice before they could worship Him (vv. 16–17).

What a test for us! We are to make things right by confessing our sins, asking God for forgiveness, and then serving Him. Our preparation for church is based on our relationship with God on a daily basis and our compliance with His instructions. Anything less results in worship that is wasted.

An obedient heart is the source of worship that pleases God. We come to You, O holy God, admitting all of our sins without being overcome by remorse;

We humbly ask for Your cleansing and Your blessing; we serve You, O God!

I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. — Psalm 139:14

When we consider this, we are astounded by the knowledge and inventiveness of the Lord who created us. We are more than just a physical body, though. Each of us has received an everlasting soul from God, which is worth more than the entire universe! (Mt. 16:26).

God made us for eternal communion with Him. As a result, even after Adam and Eve rebelled against their Creator, He did not completely forsake them. He cared for the sinful human race so deeply that He offered His only Son, Jesus Christ, as a means of atonement.

We surrender ourselves completely to You in amazement of Your wonderful creation and redemption, Lord.

When we consider this, we are astounded by the Lord's creativity and wisdom in creating us. But we are more than just a physical being. Additionally, God has given each of us an everlasting soul, which is more valuable than the entire universe! (Mt. 16:26).

God made us for a lifetime of connection with Him. Therefore, even though Adam and Eve transgressed against their Creator, He did not completely reject them. He cared so deeply for the fallen human race that He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, as a means of salvation.

We are in awe of Your wonderful creation and salvation, Lord, and we completely devote ourselves to You.

You crown the year with Your goodness, and Your paths drip with abundance. — Psalm 65:11

In a time when we are constantly being warned about the dangers of population growth, it is important to remember that the God who created and supports everything is a God of abundance. The psalmist thanked God for providing for His animals in such a benevolent manner.

How, therefore, do we account for the extreme hunger and starvation that so many people experience? Is this catastrophe the result of God's miserly provision? No! Such hunger is a result of societal and political systems that disobey God's directives for the protection of the environment and all living things.

Christians ought to praise God for providing like the psalmist did. Because of Him, the "valleys are also covered with grain; the pastures are clothed with flocks" (Psalm 65:13).

He provides purpose and fulfilment to our life.

Our hearts ought to be overflowing with gratitude and praise for what God has bestowed upon us! Given how well He provides for His animals, let's express our thanks by being eager to help people around us.

I discipline my body and bring it into subjection. — 1 Corinthians 9:27

The gospel was very important to the apostle Paul. He committed himself to the goal of serving God with the same zeal that an athlete commits to training. Paul underwent extreme tribulation in order to obtain an eternal reward, unlike athletes who practise for a temporary prize.

The apostle had every motive to give up even though he enjoyed several years of successful ministry. He had endured 39 lashes on five separate times as leather cords tore into his skin (2 Corinthians 11:24). Along with being starved, thirsty, cold, and subjected to numerous other hardships, he was also beaten, stoned, and shipwrecked (vv. 25–27).

Paul's body must have resisted every time he got ready to go for a new service location.

Paul, though, trained his body.

Paul made his body both his and the gospel's servant. Are we equally devoted to serving Christ?

There is never a good time to give up while you are working for Jesus. Do you ever consider giving up?

Where did Jesus get the courage to go on?

the ministry? (Matthew 26:36–44; 14:13,23).

This is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life. — 1 John 2:25

Knowing and trusting God's promises would be advantageous for us as well. The following realities from 1 John will support us:

To benefit from the Lord's promises to His children, we must first believe that He will grant us eternal life through Jesus (2:25; 5:1).

His promises to us are intended to transform us into more like His Son, Jesus Christ (3:2-3).

We have God's Spirit within us, which aids in our comprehension of the promises included in His Word (2:27).

Let's look for the promises that apply to us when we study God's Word. These priceless promises will then be verified as we follow through on them.

God's power, love, and wisdom are the foundation for all of His promises. Your promises, O purifying Word, O lovely Word, are genuine; they give me the ability to live as Christ did; and their truths are brand-new and new.

What country is the happiest in the world? According to a Time magazine story, pollsters have attempted to discover a conclusive response to that question, but to no avail.

Genuine happiness—a state of pleasure, joy, and hope—is independent of one's place of residence. A healthy relationship with God is necessary for it. "Happy are the people whose God is the Lord," said David in Psalm 144:15.

The family of God is not limited by geography or colour. That is decided by one's faith in Jesus Christ. Let us then be glad that, as residents of our Lord's kingdom, we can find true happiness via His mercy.

Only knowing God can bring true joy. Bane and blessing, anguish and pleasure, are sanctified by the cross; there is peace that knows no bounds, and joys that last forever.

Praise from the upright is beautiful. — Psalm 33:1

Rejoice in the Lord, O you upright, the psalmist proclaimed. Because praise from the righteous is lovely (33:1).

Men and women who share their talents with us in order to assist us in our worship deserve our gratitude. In verse 3 it is stated to "play skillfully." They cannot, however, enjoy all the pleasure. When we utilise music to express our praise, we strengthen our worship and our joy in the Lord. Christians everywhere have something to sing about.

A heart that is tuned to God sings songs of adoration. All of these actions belong to the name of Jesus; freely offer your heart's devotion and publicly declare His love at all times.

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. — Galatians 3:13

She loves Jesus, prays frequently, reads the Bible every day, and confesses her sins every evening, an elderly woman once informed me. But she worries about passing away. She is unsure of God's acceptance of her. She added that she paid a sizable sum of money to her church without her husband's knowledge because she was so desperate to win God's favour.

Paul said, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast" (Eph. 2:8–9). This woman clearly does not grasp what Paul is saying. She still holds on to the notion that she must win God's favour by her good deeds.

Christian apologists frequently make this error. Some Galatian Christians who had the same opinion needed to be corrected by the apostle Paul. They discussed the necessity of upholding many of the rules outlined in the Old Testament legal code. Paul proclaimed in Galatians 3:13 that by dying on the cross, Jesus Christ freed us from the penalty of the law.

Do you agree with this? Do you consider Christ to be your Saviour? If so, be glad and give thanks as you rest in the finished work He did for you on the cross. Avoid the frequent error of believing that you can win God's favour.

Salvation is an unmerited favour extended to an undeserving sinner. God is now demonstrating His grace; Jesus died to reconcile us to God. It is not deeds, prayer, or tears that rescue the soul.

I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted. — 2 Corinthians 11:3

It can be challenging to comprehend why people succumb to certain temptations. From our perspective, their issue ought to be simple to resolve.

Even now, we might be perplexed as to how Adam and Eve could have been so gullible as to discard everything that God had given them on the first morning of their existence. If we had been stronger, would we have fallen as easily?

The fact that the tempter sneaks into our life wearing a disguise is part of the issue.

According to the Bible, the serpent was "more cunning than any beast of the field" (Gen. 3:1). No menacing hissing or rattling issued a warning.

Public Enemy No. 1 still employs the same strategies as he utilised in the past. The Bible teaches us that Satan poses as an angel of light and that his minions present themselves as representatives of righteousness (2 Corinthians 11:14–15). To stop such a cunning liar from slipping into our life, we must stay attentive.

Do you cherish material possessions? To live in close connection with Christ, ask the Holy Spirit for assistance (1 John 2:28). Don't fall into Satan's deceptions.

To reveal Satan's lies, we need to understand God's truth. The strength to win the battle comes when we put our trust in the Lord. When sin tempts and allures, its falsehoods must be disregarded.

The ox knows its owner . . . ; but Israel does not know, My people do not consider. — Isaiah 1:3

Sometimes it seems like animals are more intelligent than us. They have occasionally assisted us in preventing calamity due to their awareness of natural events.

Hours before a deadly earthquake struck in northern China, authorities were able to warn residents and order their evacuation from high-risk locations. Cattle that moaned more than usual and hens that wouldn't go to bed served as warning signs of the calamity. In Japan, 20 minor quakes within a few months were correctly predicted by observers after they noticed that catfish were swimming frantically as if they were being pursued by sharks.

According to the prophet Isaiah (1:2-9), animals can even teach us how to avoid having our lives wrecked.

He stated in verse three that a donkey knows where its food originates from and that an ox knows who its owner is. These creatures are aware of their carers. However, God's people frequently lack the intelligence to recall their Owner. The apostle Paul reminded the Corinthian Christians that they were not their own hundreds of years after Isaiah. They were to honour God in all that they said and did since they had been bought with a price (1 Corinthians 6:19–20).

Learn from the animals and keep your Owner and Provider in mind. Live your life for Him.

Live your life to show others who you are a part of. Lord, I am Yours; nonetheless, tell me all that it entails.
It only need love and dedication,
Holy service, complete submission,
And complete submission to You.

Our light affliction . . . is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. — 2 Corinthians 4:17

The tiny Caribbean island of Haiti was subject to an embargo after a military takeover there in 1991. For many Haitians, survival became a daily battle.

Despite being underweight and frail, those believers were able to live joyously because they kept their thoughts on the wealth and grandeur they would one day experience in heaven.

We could learn from our Haitian brothers and sisters who reside in one of the world's poorest nations because we have access to comfortable homes and plenty of food. We must adopt an eternal viewpoint when examining life.

I look forward to the day when all suffering, anguish, and misery are eradicated. The sorrow and wickedness in the world worry me. But I'm certain that those Haitian believers who frequently experienced hunger and sickness as well as fear of death had a higher sense of expectancy than I do.

Lord, even when things are going well, enable us to see life in the context of eternity.

To keep the values of eternity in mind, we must walk in the light. How have challenges made you reflect more about eternal issues? How are those lessons going to stick with you in good times? Are you anticipating heaven?

Behold, your King is coming to you, lowly, and sitting on a donkey. — Matthew 21:5

Donkeys are frequently derided in public discourse.

These proverbs ignore the contributions of a truly priceless creature. The human species has used donkeys for thousands of years. They were previously treasured as representations of kindness, serenity, and humility.

Donkeys that had never been ridden were thought to be especially ideal for religious uses in the time of the Bible. So it was entirely appropriate for Jesus to request a colt to transport Him into Jerusalem as part of His regal duties. How admirable that donkey's task was! How similar to our mission as followers of Jesus!

In order to follow Christ, we too must be freed from earthly ties, just as Jesus did with the donkey (Mk. 11:4-5). Are we ready to work like donkeys?

When done for God, humble effort is transformed into holy work. Teach me how to perform the meek assignment
I'll do my best,
not to look for more urgent calls
that could be against Your plan.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. — Matthew 5:16

A woman in Grand Rapids was delighted to receive a visit from a former college flatmate who resided in a different region of the country. But as she listened to her friend's tale, she was moved by the difficulties her visitor encountered as a single mother trying to maintain order.

The hostess made the decision to assist in some way. She called the home church of her acquaintance and voiced her worries. People in that town, located 2,000 kilometres distant, started working right away. They inside and out cleaned the woman's home. They stocked the refrigerator with ready-to-eat food and stocked the shelves.

The woman was shocked by what had happened when she returned home. All she could do was praise God because she had no idea why or who had taken care of her.

That is a wonderful example of how we should carry out the work of the Lord, not so that we may earn praise and honour, but so that God may be given the glory. Jesus provided instructions in Matthew 6 for performing "charitable deeds," saying that we are to do them quietly and without drawing attention to ourselves.

After doing something for someone else, it's difficult to ignore the praise. However, we shall carry out God's will if we so choose. Then we will know for sure who deserves credit.

If we don't care who receives the credit, there is no end to the good we can do. Let others receive the praise,
The fame and the acclaim—
I want to be like Jesus.
and praise be to His name.

If the spirit of the ruler rises against you, do not leave your post; for conciliation pacifies great offenses. — Ecclesiastes 10:4

The Bible says that we shouldn't be "afraid of sudden terror" (Prov. 3:25). There is no need for panic.

When adversity upends our lives, we can "stay at our post" by asking God for wisdom through prayer, the Bible, and wise Christian guidance. We can maintain our composure, believe that God is at work, and carry on with our good and righteous deeds. The rest is up to God.

The person who draws strength from God can withstand any situation. When I navigate the eerie labyrinth of life

And troubles fill my soul to the brim.

Oh, Lord, give me Your grace to know

that You are unquestionably in charge.

God . . . gives us richly all things to enjoy. — 1 Timothy 6:17

The tempter is skilled in his trade. After all, he has been using it ever before the universe first existed. He actively encourages us to disobey God's laws or subtly persuades us to add to them in an effort to cause us to lose God's blessing. He is aware that either side of the road has a ditch where we could fall.

He first asserted that God didn't want Eve to appreciate any of the garden's trees during their conversation (Gen. 3:1). Eve defended God by stating that just the fruit from the middle tree was forbidden (vv. 2–3). She later clarified, however, that merely touching the tree would result in death (v. 3). However, God had made no mention of touching it.

Some of us strive to be stricter than God in an effort to defend Him. If we deviate from His commands, we think we are holier. As a result, we are deprived of even one piece of tainted fruit and miss out on the orchard. We shall not only refrain from touching that tree, but also any trees that resemble it or are located nearby. We displease God by doing this.

All of us have wonderful things from God to enjoy (1 Timothy 6:17). When we concentrate on what is forbidden and miss out on all of His favours, He is not happy. Not only is it wrong to not enjoy life, it is also sinful.

A heart of thanksgiving is the source of life's delight. What does it imply about enjoying life in these verses?
Ecclesiastes 2; Genesis 1:28–31; Psalm 36:7-9;
Colossians 2:20–23; Acts 14:17; 1 Corinthians 10:31

The living know that they will die. — Ecclesiastes 9:5

I learned that a well-liked senator was unseated after serving just one term. Both his detractors and his supporters were completely unprepared for his fall.

Everybody will die eventually! The phrase "it is appointed for men to die once" (Heb. 9:27) appears in the Bible. Some of us are closer to that day than we realise. The sane individual accepts that death is a fact and plans for this final chapter of his worldly existence.

You can only get ready for eternity by accepting Christ as your Saviour. When they have taken their final breath, those who approach God through Him will pass into heaven. However, that pivotal time will ensure the eternal damnation of the unbelievers.

Are you prepared for what's coming? According to Jesus, "He who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgement, but has passed from death into life" (John 5:24). Place your confidence in Christ, accepting that He died for your sins and resurrected from the tomb, if you haven't already. Afterward, you'll be prepared whether the anticipated occurs sooner or later.
