If we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged. — 1 Corinthians 11:31

The pastor insisted that no one should approach the Lord's Table with unconfessed sin, and he had biblical justification for this position. The apostle Paul challenged a few churchgoers in 1 Corinthians 11 who needed to acknowledge their selfish, dividing attitudes and confess them as sin (vv. 18–21). Before joining in the joyful celebration of the total pardon Jesus obtained for us by His sacrificial death, he advised everyone to take a moment for thoughtful introspection.

The idea still holds true today. Before we partake of the Lord's Supper, we must recognise and confess everything that has stood between us and our Saviour. The pardon secured for us by the Savior's shed blood is then given new meaning by the bread and the cup.

Make sure your heart is pure before you eat at the Lord's table. Lord, do not allow me to boast save in the death of my God, Jesus Christ; all the vain things that I most enjoy are offered up to His blood.

Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him. — 1 Corinthians 2:9

A young child presses her small face against the shop window and stares in awe at the stunning dolls on exhibit. The little dishes and intricate furniture in the miniature homes have captured her attention. Oh, to enter the house and engage in that enticing play!

As dawn gradually fills the eastern horizon with brightness, a man is seen standing on the beach. His hope lies in Christ, and he considers the beauty of heaven. Oh, the thrill it would bring to enter that realm!

While here on earth, we are, in C. S. Lewis' words, "on the wrong side of the door." Nevertheless, he continued, "All the leaves of the New Testament are rustling with the rumour that it will not always be so."

We are not abandoned by Jesus "on the wrong side of the door." He is the reason we look forward to heaven. He does not give us hope because of our goodness or deeds or because we have merited admission to heaven (Titus 3:5). No, it is only because of our faith in His atoning death on the cross at Calvary that we will be able to see our Saviour.

The profound implications of 1 Corinthians 2:9, "Eye has not seen, ear has not heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him," will become clear to us when we get to heaven.

For those who open their hearts to Him, God opens the windows of heaven. How could we comprehend that Light that illuminates the Heavenly City if He had not created the brilliant sun to lead us till our day's work is complete?

Philip opened his mouth, and . . . preached Jesus to him. — Acts 8:35

Have you ever driven along a motorway and seen those "adopt-a-highway" signs?

The organisation that adopts a stretch of highway in Michigan makes a commitment to picking up litter twice or three times each year.

Imagine if Christians took ownership of the area nearest to their place of residence or employment and took on the responsibility of making sure that during the year, a Christian witness was made in the households nearby.

Philip didn't go along the highway from Jerusalem to Gaza to collect crumpled chariot wheels or broken harnesses. He was dispatched by the Holy Spirit to introduce Christ to an Ethiopian man.

God has called us to be witnesses for Christ in our spheres of influence. Let's make the most of the chances He offers us.

Where God has placed you is the finest location to witness. Have you led the lost to Jesus and exhorted them to believe in Him?

Have you mentioned the eternal life that everyone can have if they so choose?

Many who had believed came confessing and telling their deeds. — Acts 19:18

It is true that some of the customs that define a civilization are given up by believers. Yet, that was not the intended outcome. For instance, the Udek tribe in Chali, Sudan, abandoned the custom of burying a live baby with its mother if she passed away during childbirth when they converted to Christianity. These recent converts to Christianity had no intention of upending their society. However, representatives of the UN have openly acknowledged the distinction between the Udek Christians and their non-Christian neighbours.

The gospel was being practised throughout Ephesus society, as the apostle Paul witnessed. Sorcerers destroyed their occult books, which were worth 50,000 days' pay, when they embraced Christ (Acts 19:19).

Additionally, the silversmiths who created Diana shrines nearly went out of business (vv. 23–27).

Our culture does not need to be changed by us. That can only be accomplished by the gospel and the power of God!

The gospel causes an internal transformation that frees one from the grip of sin. Christ sets us free from the punishment and dominion of our sin, and He transforms society as individual hearts are transformed.

I will meditate on Your precepts, and contemplate Your ways. — Psalm 119:15

I adore seeing cows grazing in the field while chewing cud. What, though, is cud? And why do they chew it for such a long time?

Grass and other food are first consumed by cows to fill their stomachs. They then settle in for a satisfyingly lengthy chew. They reprocess the food they've already consumed by bringing it back up from their stomachs, absorbing its benefits, and turning it into rich milk. Time-consuming? Yes. a time waster? Not if they want to produce high-quality milk.

Meditation is referred to as "chewing the cud" in some cultures. Evidently, the author of Psalm 119 chewed his words a lot while he read the Bible. He will not eat fast food!

If we imitate his method of attentively and fervently reading Scripture, we will:

Become more resilient to sin (v. 11).

Enjoy discovering more about God (vv. 15–16).

Wonderful spiritual truths are revealed (v. 18).

Discover sage advice for daily life (v. 24).

Reading and believing the Bible is only one aspect of meditation. It involves integrating Scripture with daily life.

The Bible is not supposed to be a quick meal. Spend some time chewing thoroughly.

Do not use the Bible as a snack book if you want to be a healthy Christian. Dear Lord, as You did with the loaves by the sea, break the bread of life for me. Lord, I seek Thee beyond the sacred page; my spirit yearns for Thee, O living Word.

If I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. — John 16:7

Have you ever wondered what Jesus may have accomplished on earth if He hadn't died? His glorified body, which He possessed after rising from the dead, allowed Him to pass through solid objects and manifest Himself anywhere He chose with just a thought. He might arrive out of nowhere at a contentious church business meeting, resolve doctrinal disagreements, and bring Christians together!

Jesus could counsel presidents and prime ministers, bring Jews and Arabs together, resolve border conflicts, and halt terrorists if He were physically present. He may discuss abortion, homosexuality, and physician-assisted suicide on radio and television talk shows.

But God had a superior plan. He decided to send the Holy Spirit as a Helper who would accomplish what Christ could never have accomplished if He had remained.

The Holy Spirit may be in two places at once, but Jesus cannot. He can persuade the world that rejecting Jesus is its biggest sin. He can raise Christ as the one moral benchmark for all of our actions. Despite the fact that it sometimes seems to be gaining, he can promise us that evil has been condemned and will fail.

For the Spirit to arrive, Jesus had to leave this world. Never lose sight of the fact that the Holy Spirit is at work in our lives and around the world to exalt Christ.

 The Spirit carries out in us what Jesus did for us. Spread the word everywhere there are people, wherever there are human hearts and human woes;

Let the happy news that the Comforter has arrived be spoken in every Christian tongue!

The Spirit carries out in us what Jesus did for us. Spread the word everywhere there are people, wherever there are human hearts and human woes;
Let the happy news that the Comforter has arrived be spoken in every Christian tongue!

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up. — 1 Corinthians 13:4

An effective exchange of ideas is crucial to a happy marriage.

Let's examine the two main ideas. First, we must admit when we are mistaken. This kind of honesty is advantageous in all relationships, not just marriage (Prov. 12:22). Resolution is impossible when we defend ourselves while we're incorrect.

On the other side, if we insist that we're always right and are hesitant to admit our faults to our partner, we can be just as difficult to live with. In 1 Corinthians 13:4, it is stated that "[love] does not parade itself, is not puffed up." Nobody enjoys being around someone who constantly appears to be giving themselves pats on the back.

Two straightforward rules for a godly marriage: Admit your mistake and don't speak up when you're correct. It helps to maintain the relationship's strength.

Ideally, your voice should be heard over silence; else, keep quiet. Be sure to tightly seal your lips against words that make you cry, but speak up quickly when someone offers you words of solace, praise, or encouragement.

A bishop must be blameless, as a steward of God. — Titus 1:7

In order to build a witness for Jesus Christ, the apostle Paul left Titus on the island of Crete. For the expanding group of believers, Titus was supposed to name leaders. Finding the correct leadership for the Christians in Crete was the most crucial thing Titus did for them, other than preaching the gospel.

Church leaders are expected to uphold the norms outlined in Titus 1:6–9 and to lead others towards higher spiritual development. And in order to achieve those objectives, followers must gently hold their spiritual leaders accountable.

Know where you're headed whether you're leading or following. Avoid marching in circles.

A leader who is following Christ is the only one worth following. Check the leader's beliefs, pray, and make sure they are in line with Jesus before you follow them.

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. — 2 Corinthians 5:17

Low self-esteem is fatal to potential, bravery, and relationships. However, it is not the main issue we are facing. Did Eve consume the forbidden fruit because she struggled with self-acceptance? Did Lucifer rebel and fall from heaven's balcony because he thought the Most High God was superior to him? Or did they believe they had a right to know more or to be more than the Lord had decreed out of arrogance?

Actually, the root of our issue is our sin before a holy God. Ironically, this means that before things improve, we must first feel worse. Without a doubt, we should all work to lift one another up (1 Timothy 5:11).

And people who have endured abusive conditions deserve our extra attention and care.

But regardless of how we have been raised, we must all acknowledge that we have sinned and need to be born again. The wrongness of measuring ourselves by ourselves or comparing ourselves to others must also dawn on us (2 Corinthians 10:12). Above all, we must admit that what Christ did for us on the cross was not anything we deserved (Ti. 3:4-5).

Have you put your faith in Jesus to save you? Having faith in and accepting what Jesus has accomplished for you is the only way to feel good about yourself.

Consider who you are in Christ if you want to feel good about yourself. I should not place a higher value on myself than is appropriate because Christ, who purchased my soul, is the source of my true value.

We ourselves were also once foolish . . . . According to His mercy He saved us. — Titus 3:3,5

Christ's acceptance or rejection can act as a "watershed line." We start living a new life the instant we receive Him (John 3:1–16). We are headed towards heaven because we are new creatures in Christ. But if we keep rejecting Him, we'll end up in hell.

You can reflect on the most significant watershed line in history if you have asked Jesus to forgive your sins. You are a lifelong member of God's family, filled with His Spirit, and led by His Word. Gratitude to God for the impact His Son, Jesus Christ, has!

Your future is determined by your decision regarding Christ. The key decision in life is how we treat the Son of God; rejecting Him will result in hell; receiving Him is the beginning of heaven.

We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. — Psalm 100:3

The security of a husband and wife who understand they belong to each other is brilliantly captured in the words of King Solomon's bride, "I am my beloved's, and my beloved is mine" (Song 6:3). This sense of belonging permeates the entire family in a happy marriage. Parents talk lovingly and proudly about their kids. The youngsters spoke lovingly about their parents, siblings, brother, and mother.

All who recognise God as their Father can experience this sense of kinship. However, a lot of individuals do not acknowledge God as their Creator and Owner. They consider themselves as accidents of nature with no significance or hope, orphans in a senseless universe.

However, believers can join the psalmist in exulting that "We are His people and the sheep of His pasture" (100:3).
What provides the only solace in life and death? That I am a faithful servant of my obedient Saviour Jesus Christ, both in life and in death, is the correct response.

We are eternally His! He belongs to us, and we belong to Him. What a fitting commandment: "Make a glad shout to the Lord, all ye lands! Serving the Lord joyfully and singing in His presence is encouraged in Psalm 100:1-2.

Being a part of God results in countless blessings. We are grateful to God for being our Father, Shepherd, Guardian, Guide, and Stay. We also thank Him for the benefits He bestows upon us every day.

Love your enemies, . . . do good to those who hate you. — Matthew 5:44

It has been claimed that turning an enemy into a friend is the finest method to defeat him. This is in line with Christ's teaching in Matthew 5:44 that we ought to love those who despise us.

Our Lord provided us with three justifications for loving our enemies. First of all, by being friendly to them, we are imitating our heavenly Father, who "makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends forth rain on the just and on the unjust" (v. 45).

Because there is no reward for loving only those who love us, we are also commanded to love our enemies (v. 46).

Third, the way we handle our opponents separates us from the ungodly.

Jesus questioned, "What do you do more than others if you only greet your brethren?" (v.47). A Christian should be characterised by genuine concern for everyone (1 John 4:7-21).

However, following Jesus' instruction to love our adversaries is a difficult task. Our first instinct is frequently to strike back. However, if we choose to show those who hate us love and kindness, we may be able to overcome their animosity and win their approval in the end.

Making an adversary your friend is the most effective—and Christlike—way to do so!

Try using the warmth of love to soften an opponent. We are instructed to pray for those who oppose us in this life because doing so reveals God's grace to them.

Those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing. — Psalm 34:10

Our culture is dotted with what appear to be This Way To Happiness signs everywhere. Some folks choose the financial route. Some people choose the entertainment route. Others choose the path of self-gratification or power.

Those paths are problematic since they all end in frustration due to their dead ends. The path God has distinctly delineated in His Word is the only path to happiness.

Psalm 34 contains God's path to gladness. David sets us a path in just 14 verses that, when followed, provides all the advantages we require in this world—advantages that are within our grasp whether we are wealthy or impoverished, healthy or ill, renowned or unknown.

These indicators point to the path to happiness:

God is being praised: "My soul shall boast in the Lord" (v.
God's presence: "I sought the Lord, and He heard me" (v. 4).
God's command to fear Him is, "Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints!" (v.9).
"Depart from evil and do good" (v. 14) is a principle of living for God.
Following God's will brings happiness. Alternate routes will lead you on a protracted journey in the wrong direction.

Trust and follow God's instructions if you want ultimate happiness. No other name can satisfy me right now; there is love, life, and eternal delight found in Thee, Lord Jesus.

From you the word of the Lord has sounded forth . . . in every place. — 1 Thessalonians 1:8

The apostle Paul emphasised to the persecuted Thessalonian Christians that their "faith towards God" was changing lives throughout the world (1 Thess 1:8). This must have given them motivation to stick with the Saviour.

Never undervalue your ability to spread the gospel. Your modest message will be heard if you live for Him in your place of employment or neighbourhood.

Lord, enable us to consistently represent You as witnesses.

Instead of a loud sermon, a quiet testimony is more persuasive. Keeping pace with the Saviour, leading a life of integrity, loudly calling forth a witness, and demonstrating the power of God's grace.

You were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold . . . but with the precious blood of Christ. — 1 Peter 1:18-19

Call toll-free and "Jesus can be yours." It states this in the marketing for a 2-foot-tall, machine-washable "Jesus doll." The doll is dressed in a white tunic with a crimson heart embroidered on it underneath a scarlet cloak.

According to the advertisement, children will adore hugging the doll, while the elderly and anyone who are experiencing emotional turmoil will find solace in it. Therefore, "Jesus can be yours" for just $29.95.

Do you desire one? Do you also believe that breaking the Second Commandment, which forbids the creation of any idols, would be a breach of this? (Ex. 20:4-5). It is unquestionably impossible to buy the world's Redeemer and the comfort He provides for 5 cents less than $30!

This, in my opinion, runs counter to the gospel's message.

The statement "Jesus can be yours" is true. But you cannot purchase Him. He actually paid for us! Jesus does not become ours by the payment of "corruptible things, like silver or gold" (1 Peter 1:18), but rather through our simple faith in the mercy and grace He extends to us through the shed blood of His Son (v.19). He satisfied the price of sin with His blood. And we have access to all of heaven's riches because of our faith in Him.

Jesus is beyond purchase. But you can have Him for nothing.

Salvation is offered without charge. The route to paradise could not be purchased with silver or gold; the blood of the cross is my only foundation, and it is through the death of my Saviour that redemption was accomplished.

Whoever receives one of these little children in My name receives Me. — Mark 9:37

There is a myth involving a rabbi from a tiny Jewish community. On the eve of Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement), the congregation had assembled in the synagogue, but when it was time for the most significant ritual of the Jewish year to start, the rabbi was nowhere to be found.

A young mother went home to check on her young daughter, whom she had left asleep, during the delay. She was shocked to see the rabbi holding the child in his arms, sitting comfortably in a chair. On his way to the synagogue, he had passed by her house while on foot. He had heard the baby screaming and stopped to assist. The infant dozed off while being held by him.

The example of this rabbi and Jesus' love for people have a message for us (Mt. 9:18–26). We frequently lose our sense of sympathy for others in our hurried and busy lives because we become preoccupied with our own worries. No matter who they are, whether they are little children, parents, or senior believers, we must take the time to watch and respond to each person.

Take the time to grasp the hand of an elderly believer, console a weary mother, or rock a kid to sleep somewhere in the midst of all the demands on you as a servant of Jesus Christ.

Great opportunities to serve are rare because children constantly surround us. What a blessing it is to be a tool of grace that He can employ whenever, whenever, and however He pleases!

If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you? You follow Me. — John 21:22

We readily accept the claims that "all men are created equal" and that we have some "unalienable rights." But it won't take us very long to realise that not everyone is treated equally by life. We must learn to accept this reality without grumbling.

Inequities in life manifest on a variety of levels. A child's body is destroyed by cancer, while a chainsmoker who drinks heavily survives to a ripe old age. Others do not appreciate good health, but some do. Others have severe limits, while some people are handicapped. Others are born wealthy or appear to have a string of fortunate events, while others work hard and stay in poverty.

Peter questioned what would happen to John when Jesus told him that he would die a martyr for his religion. He appeared to believe that John dying any other manner would not be fair. But Jesus assured him that it was none of his business what had happened to John. That was entirely up to God. Peter's task was straightforward: He was to follow Christ.

Change your focus if staring at others gets you angry about how unfair life is. Follow Jesus by focusing on Him. Inequities in life only last a short time. In heaven, perfect justice will be ours to enjoy forever.

While satisfaction comes from looking to God, resentment comes from looking to other people. We all carry different burdens, some heavier than others, but those who commit their life to Christ can have faith that He will put things right.

The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous. — Proverbs 15:29

It's encouraging to hear a physician acknowledge the link between patient care and prayer. But it's hardly a brand-new concept. Studies have demonstrated that prayer, whether offered by the patient or others, helps quicken the healing process.

But studies are not really necessary to show that prayer is effective. The Bible teaches us that it does.

Have you discussed your struggles with the Lord? He is capable of providing for your needs, whether it be by His direct assistance (Ps. 34:17) or the consolation of His nearness (v. 18). Trust Him wholeheartedly right now.

The best treatment for daily worries is regular prayer. Prayer provides us strength and calm.
to follow a Christian path;
We connect with the living God via prayer—
As a result, we must pray.

Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all. — Luke 21:3

According to a calculation, if the widow's two mites had been deposited in a bank and earned 4% interest compounded semiannually, it would now be worth $4.8 trillion. What potential exists in such a tiny investment when given time to develop!

More significantly, that widow's 2-mite investment is still producing offspring today. How many of God's people were inspired by that woman's sacrifice and dared to emulate her will only be known in eternity.

Some people may have made a commitment to practising better financial management. Others might have been serving Christ and His kingdom by giving of themselves and their talents.

How can we even begin to gauge the immeasurable worth of all the good that such selfless work has generated throughout the ages? When what they offer reflects sacrifice, devotion, and love for Christ, even the poorest and least gifted Christians can invest in eternity.

Do not undervalue the impact that even our little efforts can have on the cause of Christ. The actual millionaires of this world will only be known in eternity. Shall we be one of them?
More significant than the gift's size is the giver's intention. If you can't donate $1,000,000,
The widow's mite can be donated,
And anything you can do for Jesus.
is priceless in His eyes.

Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! — Romans 6:1-2

It is possible to start a conversation by discussing or even defending what God has spoken and nevertheless come to conclusions that allow us to ignore His commands. For instance, Satan approached Eve at the beginning of creation and persuaded her to engage in a religious debate. He merely inquired about the prohibition on eating from the tree, but he brought her to a fatal conclusion (Genesis 3:1–6).

Paul, the apostle, feared that we would make Eve's error again. He warned against drawing the wrong inferences in his letter to the Roman Christians. (Rom. 5:12–21) He wished for believers to exult in God's kindness and the undeserved gift of redemption.

whenever, Paul was aware that people would erroneously believe that because God is so generous, we are free to act whenever we like (6:1-2, 15–16).

Jesus Christ offered us an example of how to avoid being misled into making the incorrect decisions, in contrast to what occurred to Eve and countless others. In response to Satan's temptations, He quoted Scripture and reaffirmed His allegiance to God at each turn (Mt. 4:1–11).

Keep God's Word at the centre of every theological conversation to avoid drawing the wrong conclusions.
Twisting the truth weakens it more than anything else. Lord, aid us in understanding Your blessed Word.

I was glad when they said to me, "Let us go into the house of the Lord." — Psalm 122:1

When a person storms out of a church service griping about the sermon's delivery, the length of the announcements, or the calibre of the music, he can actually be the cause of the issue.

It's similar to entering a giant department shop and leaving with a 99-cent item to receive little to no value from a worship service. There are literally goods worth hundreds of thousands of dollars available, but the consumer will only take what he has brought with him.

We have already begun the process of receiving a blessing if we go to church expecting one.

A person may be the issue when he leaves a church service grumbling about the sermon, the length of the announcements, or the calibre of the music.

A worship service that provides little to no benefit is comparable to visiting a large department shop and leaving with a 99-cent item. There are literally hundreds of thousands of dollars' worth of goods available, but the consumer will only take what he came prepared to buy.

We have made the first move towards getting a blessing if we attend church expecting one.

Professing to be wise, they became fools. — Romans 1:22

A group of Puritans established Harvard University in 1636. Its catchphrase was Christo et Ecclesiae, which translates to "For Christ and the Church." The following was stated as one of the school's founding principles: "Everyone shall regard the major purpose of his life and studies, to know God and Jesus Christ, which is eternal life. John 17:3."

The original spiritual purpose of such esteemed centre of study and culture has long since been forgotten. Even many faculty members at Harvard Divinity School today think that the school's Christ-centered mission is antiquated and limited. A mock funeral procession was recently organised by a group of Harvard students in the Divinity School. They carried a casket while shouting, "Our God, the Father, is dead."

They were as far from the truth as east is from west, those kids. The everlasting Father is as impervious to death as He is to sin because He is the one who created all life (including those who scorn Him).

In the words of the colonial Puritans, "to know God and Jesus Christ, which is eternal life," life's main goal is still and will always be to "know God and Jesus Christ, which is eternal life." Let's make that our primary objective in life.

Knowing life's Creator is necessary for understanding life's purpose. Lord, I want to walk closely with You today and get to know You. You are my life and my path, so I need to know Your grace, your love, and your might.

In all things we commend ourselves as ministers of God: in much patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses. — 2 Corinthians 6:4

Consider an 18-year-old looking for a summer job in the classified advertising. He is intrigued by an advertisement for a national wildlife and fish refuge because he enjoys the outdoors.

Imagine that the 18-year-old is a Christian seeking to serve God in a significant way. His gaze is fixed on 2 Corinthians, chapter 6, at this time. The apostle Paul is there, describing the opportunity to serve the Lord, the highest calling of all. However, the job description is once more extremely open about some of the pressures associated with the position. Even while each reader is reminded by Paul's comments that serving the Lord is not like taking a long vacation, his experiences as an apostle were distinctive. It demands the highest level of dedication, care, and work.

Yes, serving Christ presents unique challenges and will demand sacrifice. But the difference is that we are not fighting this battle alone. For the honour of serving the Lord, there is no price too high!

For the One who gave all for us, we can never give enough. Even though your labours are painful, don't lose heart in doing good; there will always be a harvest from the grain sown.

My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. — Philippians 4:19

We might believe that God is too preoccupied with more pressing demands to worry about a flat tyre. However, He has promised to take care of both small and large requirements for His people.

Our needs are met by the same God who helped Elisha recover the borrowed axe head (2 Kings 6:5-7), provided food for a devoted widow (1 Kings 17:8-16), and provided wine at a small-town wedding (John 2:1–10).

Consider the previous few days. Have some little necessities in your life been met by the Lord? Has He resolved a troubling issue? Salute Him! Keep in mind that He also provides for the little things as today progresses.

Nothing is out of God's reach, and nothing is too small for His consideration. Will God not take care of you if He observes the sparrow's fall, paints the lilies, both short and tall, and gives the heavens their azure hue?

These words . . . shall be in your heart. . . . You shall write them on the doorposts of your house. — Deuteronomy 6:6,9

Many Christians make an effort to decorate their houses with symbols of God's mercy and goodness. To inspire family members to serve and exalt the Lord, all that may be required is a Bible verse engraved on a plaque or a stylish piece of artwork with a Christian theme.

Additionally, the availability of Christian literature and periodicals might encourage Bible study. The opportunity to share the goodness of the Lord with home visitors may also arise from such silent testimony.

How's your house doing? Would a visitor be able to tell what religion you follow?

Your house is a reflection of your heart. Could visitors to your home today recognise you were following Jesus' example?

Would your reading of the Bible and books and your adherence to biblical maxims be communicated to them?

Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. — Psalm 62:8

King David's adversaries were plotting to have him removed from power, so it makes sense that he would be very furious. However, David claimed in Psalm 62 that his spirit was subtly confident in front of God. In the middle of all the chaos, how was this possible? Verse 8 provides a hint, which I found out for myself many years ago.

Of certainly, but He, the One who gave me my physical and spiritual constitution, hadn't He also given me my emotions? So it makes perfect sense for me to lay all of my raw emotions before Him. Then, through His Word, the Holy Spirit skilfully provided His consoling, corrective advice. Although my worries didn't go away, like David, I could find complete peace in God. I had peace once more.

Never be reluctant to express your heart to God. You'll discover that prayer is the fastest way to reach God in your time of need.

When we open our hearts to God, He gives us peace in our hearts. When I talk to my Saviour in prayer, I may share all of my concerns and woes with Him in the solitude of my bedroom.
