Desire . . . gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. — James 1:15

The woman gave the Tempter a rundown of the regulations. Every tree in the garden had fruit that she and her husband could eat, with the exception of the unique tree in the middle. She claimed that even touching it would result in death.

I can picture Satan cocking his head back and mockingly chuckling as he says, "You will not surely die" (Gen. 3:4). After that, he said that God was withholding something positive from her (v. 5).

The enemy has employed that tactic repeatedly for countless years. As long as he can convince you to doubt the one sin that stands between you and God, he doesn't care if you accept the authority of the Bible as a whole.

We are assured that we won't definitely pass away.

That is a common theme in contemporary books. Despite living in disobedience to God, the hero and heroine escape punishment. In television shows and motion pictures, characters disobey God's moral precepts but go on to have happy endings.

Will you choose to heed God's warning or will you choose to trust Satan's lie in the current temptation you are experiencing?

Sin has an unpleasant aftertaste. How has sin affected those whose lives I am familiar with?
What harm has it done me to disobey God?
Have I ever known God's mercy? (1 Jn. 1:9-10).

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits. — Psalm 103:2

Christians have a lot to be thankful to the Lord for. Every believer should exhibit a spirit of thanks and thankfulness (Ps. 34:1; Eph. 5:20).

When we choose to focus on our blessings rather than venting our frustrations, everything in life takes on a new tint. Let's express gratitude!

Praise-hemmed blessings won't come undone. When we take into account all of God's gifts and everything we have, a mindset of grumbling discontent gives way to one of gratitude.

Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost. — John 6:12

Bread that isn't broken is useless.

Jesus once had to deal with 5,000 hungry people. He miraculously fed the crowd by slicing the two fish and the five loaves into pieces (Jn. 6:11), and He was unwilling to throw away any remaining portions (v.12).

This miracle spoke to me of the brokenness that believers must suffer if they are to be used by God, as it also foreshadowed Christ's brokenness on the cross—a breaking that would make the Bread of Life available to all.

Do you worry that your shattered health, broken hopes, or broken promises will make you less useful? Be at ease! Broken loaves and broken lives are two things that become more helpful after being broken, despite the fact that some things lose their utility after being shattered.

God will use every scrap of what you're going through if you'll give Him the pieces of your life.

In God's hands, broken things are made usable. When a wounded heart gives everything to Christ, His love is evidently displayed through it. A shattered heart can give life great depth and beauty that have never been known.

If you love Me, keep My commandments. — John 14:15

A group of men were debating the benefits of leading a morally upright life. One man said that his compliance was motivated by fear. One person argued that it was love. A third man, though, asserted that the dread was driven by love. Yes, he did worry about the humiliation, disgrace, and punishment he may face for his transgressions, but the biggest worry of all was the worry of hurting his wife.

That provides some clarification on the words of our Saviour, "If you love Me, keep My commandments" (Jn. 14:15). We shall lose if we purposefully break those commandments. But how God responds to our disobedience ought to matter to us as well. We learn that God the Father experiences loving anguish in Hosea 11:8.

Because of Israel's wrongdoing, He declared, "My heart churns within Me; My sympathy is stirred."

When we disobey, Jesus feels pain as well. When Jerusalem rejected His love, He cried over it (Lk. 13:34). Paul also urged Christians in Ephesians 4:30–31 not to offend the Holy Spirit by having a harsh heart.

We will have more than enough reason to avoid wrongdoing and pursue righteous behaviour if we think about the suffering God experiences when we disobey him.

The desire to please God is the highest motivation for serving Him. Help me, Lord, to be scared of defying You so that I might do everything to Your utmost credit.

When you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. — Romans 6:20

All prisons appear undesirable from the outside. On the inside, though, some prisons rank higher than others.

A good library, a smoke-free atmosphere, and ongoing education are offered in some prisons.

That made me consider how we are related to Christ. To an outsider, it would appear to be a type of incarceration.  Obedience to the faith may appear constricting to a non-believer. But on the inside, submission to God actually unlocks the gate to a completely new realm of liberties.

Paul was acquainted with a cell's interior. He also understood that where we spend our time does not decide whether we are slaves to sin or to God.

It's a heart-related issue. Paul understood that being enslaved to sin results in an ever-increasing craving for things that displease God. God's slavery produces an ever-increasing longing for goodness, love, and gratitude for unregrettable liberties.

The secret to freedom is submission to God. We were held captive by our sin and ruled by our wicked behaviour, but the Saviour set us free so that we could live a life of service to Him.

See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. . . . For our God is a consuming fire. — Hebrews 12:25,29

In the created universe, our inner nature, and the Bible, God has made Himself known. Everyone is accountable for what they do with God's self-revelation. We are able to explain away His revelation in the made-up world. We have the option to reject our conscience's inner witness. The Bible can be disregarded. However, such replies are hellish.

Awe, admission of sin, and confession are the best and most acceptable responses to God's revelation. This results in forgiveness, inner tranquilly, and eternal existence.

Before it's too late, if you've rejected God's revelation of Himself, turn to Him in repentance. You may be certain that you will be accepted into Jesus Christ's presence for all of eternity if you have chosen to open your heart to Him.

You will eventually have to deal with God. You receive a revelation of the Lord.
in a variety of ways;
Don't therefore reject and ignore;
Give Him your praise instead.
