The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs. — Romans 8:16-17

But when we place our faith in Christ for salvation, we do more than just agree to something. By making us His children by adoption and new birth, God establishes a legally binding connection with us (1 Peter 1:23; Ephesians 1:5). We are forever heirs of an estate set up in heaven for us because of these tight family ties (1 Peter 1:4).

If one of the parties breaks his word, the contract might be broken. For our benefit, our eternal future is determined by more than just a contract we have with God.

Instead, it is because of our familial connection to Him that we are secure. The parent's commitment is not negated if the child is late for supper. The parent begins looking for the kid. Failure of one person does not end the relationship.

How appreciative we can be that our relationship with God via Christ is the foundation of eternal existence.

We are God's heirs by birthright rather than just by agreement. We have put our faith in Christ, and because of that, He will constantly cling to us. We are members of God's family, and we are children of the King.

You have been . . . a refuge from the storm. — Isaiah 25:4

I was brought back to life's many ferocious trials by this potent depiction. And I was appreciative of the assurance that we are just as safe in God as that lighthouse keeper. Every believer can attest to the truth of Isaiah 25:4: God is our refuge from the storms of bodily suffering, mental anguish, and spiritual assault. With His protection, we are able to face any adversity knowing that He who is securing us cannot be moved. And no matter how tumultuous our circumstances, that brings us calm.

With the merciful You will show Yourself merciful. — Psalm 18:25

That is also true in a certain sense of our relationship with God. He takes the initiative in salvation, of course, but man gets to decide how God will treat him. According to Psalm 18, God demonstrates His mercy to the compassionate and His shrewdness toward the cunning (never cunningly, but to thwart man's evil schemes).

If God appears far away, perhaps we've become detached from Him or others. If He looks callous, perhaps we have become harsh with other people. But the inverse is also accurate. For those who are true, rely on the mercy of the Savior, and extend themselves to others, he is merciful.

If you speak with kindness, people will respond to you in kind. The signals we convey daily through our actions and words will be reflected back to us favorably by those who cross our path.

[Christ] will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body. — Philippians 3:21

That man's desire to live a long time in a healthy physique cannot be faulted. But we have severe concerns about how he went about achieving his goal. First off, he has no guarantee that this pricey treatment would be successful. Second, even if it worked, the advantages would only last a short while. Both his old head and new body would eventually pass away.

But there is a method for him to obtain all the advantages he wants. To accept Jesus as his Savior is to do this. Everyone who has trusted in Christ will receive a new body at His second coming that will endure forever and never experience sickness or death.

The Lord Jesus Christ, according to the Bible, "will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body" (Phil. 3:21).

Who would want a "frozen head" when a new, glorified body is promised to those who belong to Christ?

Whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. — Matthew 5:39

What then was Jesus getting at when He instructed us to turn the other cheek? He was advising against letting our life be controlled by the need to exact revenge. Instead, the values of generosity and forgiveness ought to guide us. We are able to carry out Jesus' instructions exactly because of the power of the Holy Spirit that resides within us.

To forgive as you have been forgiven is the best way to exact revenge. Let me show the other cheek as You did so frequently, and let me experience the bliss of love when I say, "I forgive."

The Word of God is . . . a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. — Hebrews 4:12

It is not very rational to avoid reading the Bible out of fear of having to deal with failure, remorse, and sin! It's about as unreasonable as deciding not to visit a doctor because you think you could be developing cancer.

The Bible does definitely force us to look inward. It works like an x-ray machine, cutting through the veneer of virtue to reveal any spiritual malignancies. It permits us to understand how God sees all the worst spiritual illnesses. But the Bible reveals more than just a deadly flaw. It introduces us to the Great Physician, who can heal our spiritual wounds and help us overcome our sin.

You will discover life's most effective remedy if you read the Bible with a willingness to obey the truth.

Because the Bible criticizes them, many people criticize the Bible. Dear Lord, give us a strong desire to hear Your voice. We must learn to hear Your Word so that we can choose to do what You want.

Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church. — Acts 12:5

Prayer is always a powerful way we can help and support our friends and family who are far from us, no matter what their circumstances may be. Acts 12 shows that it worked for the people who prayed for Peter, and it can work for us as well.

There is no better compassion and assistance provided to those in need.

When you are unable to assist in person, prayer can be used.

compared to when we pray for them and support them in our efforts.

Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? — Romans 6:1

Although it may be a common practice during Lent, I don't believe that self-denial was what Jesus had in mind when He advised picking up one's cross and following Him (Matthew 16:24). He urged self-denial in the form of a daily dedication to Him in all facets of life.  Paul knew when he wrote to the church in Rome that people would think it didn't matter to God if they weren't completely devoted to His Son. He was aware that some people might view it as acceptable to continue sinning while relying on God's grace. Paul thought it absurd for persons of faith to believe they might "continue in sin" in order to benefit more from God's grace. Instead, he said we should see ourselves as having died to sin (Rom. 6:11). As followers of Jesus, we must do so obediently each day. It's never appropriate to break our commitment to Him. Believing in and obeying Christ are both prerequisites for following Him. I desire to serve the Lord completely, putting my life to the test and His judgment to the test. Every hour is a gift from the merciful Giver, and every day I make a commitment to offer my all to Christ.   =======================================================================  What is the meaning of self-denial?What is an example of self-denial?Why am I in self-denial?What is the attitude of self-denial?How do you heal self-denial?What is the psychology of self-denial?What are the dangers of self-denial?Is denial a coping mechanism? Is being in denial a coping mechanism? Is denial a trauma response? Is denial a stage of depression? Is denial a symptom of PTSD?

Do not marvel that I said to you, “You must be born again." — John 3:7

No matter how ingrained we may be in this world, God may empower any and all of us to change. When we react favorably to even the smallest stirring of grace in our spirits, the wonder of the new birth can occur. The Savior is standing by to deliver you and remove every trace of sin; salvation is a process of change rather than reformation. You can today become a new creature via faith and experience total forgiveness!   =======================================================================  What does the Bible say about a changed life?
