Great peace have those who love Your law, and nothing causes them to stumble. — Psalm 119:165

 There are two ways to interpret this remark. One is that emotions can be beneficial or unpleasant depending on how one behaves. That's accurate. The other is that what is good or terrible is determined by feelings.

Feelings are not a trustworthy predictor of moral behaviour. The Bible, which is God's Word, is the only reliable standard. Sometimes it feels wrong to follow the Lord's commands. For instance, it's not in our nature to forgive people. However, we are aware that is what God desires of us (Mt. 6:14–15).

We feel God's approbation and presence when we deepen our love for God and His commandments and when obedience becomes a way of life. This produces positive emotions that are grounded in reality.

It is the "great peace" that belongs to those who love God's law, according to the psalmist.

What do you think of your behaviour?
Do what pleases God in order to feel good about yourself. Help us, Lord, to pay attention to Your Word.
obey its precepts;
And may we stifle that egotistical inclination.
for things to work out for us.
