WORKINGS OF ABREVA® CREAM
Docosanol, a component of Abreva® cold sore cream in a concentration of 10%, inhibits viral reproduction by reaching deep into the skin and blocking the entry of the cold sore virus into healthy cells***i. It acts as a barrier to shield healthy skin cells and speeds up the healing of the cold sore. Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1)-related cold sores can be treated and healed with Abreva® Cream. Small, fluid-filled blisters known as cold sores can appear on the lips or in the mouth area.
