 These events have taught us a very clear lesson: we need to keep trying despite setbacks. 

The apostle Paul is the best person I can think of who persisted in the face of apparent defeat. Most of us would give up after reading his litany of mistakes. To start with, the members of the church Jesus established in Corinth made many mistakes. For another, he spent multiple terms in prison. Imagine a picture of loss if you add in the shipwrecks, beatings, and betrayals (2 Cor. 11:23–27). However, Paul's ministry is recognised for its resounding accomplishments. 

Let's practise putting our mistakes behind us. We don't have to give up because of God's kindness (2 Cor. 4:1).

 It's common for success to emerge from failure's ashes. Success is failure reversed—the silvery tinge of doubt veils,

Stick with the battle when you are most hurt because that is when you must persevere and not give up.
