Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to Him. — Revelation 3:20

Amazing! All things were made through Christ (Col. 1:16), and Christ comes to dwell in the heart of the sinner to experience a personal connection with God. That is the new birth's marvel.

However, if our love for Jesus becomes tepid, we risk losing this closeness. To restore this feeling of intimacy, He appears in Rev. 3:20 as waiting to be allowed in while standing outside the door of our hearts. That tight relationship can be damaged by disobedience, but it can be repaired by confessing our sins, reopening our hearts to Him, and allowing Him to regain full control. Jesus desires for us to constantly know that He is even less than 10 inches away.

Review Christ's love for you in order to refresh your devotion to him. How tragic when the flames of love fade in hearts that once knew their warmth!
However, Christ will freely give grace and make that love once more radiant.
