When I am old and grayheaded, O God, do not forsake me, until I declare Your strength to this generation. — Psalm 71:18

The child of God is in a better position than anyone else to see ageing positively and with an eye towards the future. Although jumping out of an aeroplane may be impossible due to physical limits, there are numerous more brave—and more admirable—acts that you can carry out. Being steadfast in faith when bodily power fails is more noble than any physical accomplishment.

Nothing is more honourable than to put your faith in God while people are telling you that "God has forsaken him" (Psalm 71:11). Nothing is more important than telling the next generation about the power of the Lord (v. 18).

As we get older, we confront a lot of challenges.

But who can enjoy life more than those who have firsthand knowledge of the Lord's faithfulness and the conviction that the best is yet to come?

The number of years increases, while God's faithfulness keeps growing. We are never too old to smile, laugh, or sing. We are also never too old to have a childlike faith in the blessings each day will bring.
