 The Lord instructed Elijah to flee to Zarephath, where he could find food and shelter, after he had gone through some very tough trials. Imagine Elijah's shock when he learned that the widow who was supposed to take care of him was very underprivileged! She even believed that she and her son would soon starve to death. 

Christians frequently focus primarily on the here and now and only catch a glimpse of God's amazing plan. The roadblocks that prevent us from seeing clearly and thwart our plans are actually a part of the exquisite plans of divine grace.

Our heavenly Father is fully capable of carrying out His plans. Even though His ways are unfathomable, He promises that if we put our trust in Him, everything will turn out for the best.

God may not make clear the reason for His actions, yet those actions do have a purpose. Those who do not understand God's flawless design are perplexed by His ways and judgments, but those who rely on His rescuing grace are amazed by everything He does!
