What will you do in the end? — Jeremiah 5:31

 Military authorities at the highest levels of government keep a close eye on developments in their area and throughout the globe. They attempt to find an answer to the question, "Where is this going to lead us?" as they assess troop movements, missile locations, and potential replies. 

Jeremiah the prophet urged his people to think about the direction their actions were leading them around 600 BC. However, rather than a hostile army, the greatest danger to their wellbeing was their own moral and spiritual decline. Inhumane, godless, and sexually immoral people claimed to believe in God (5:7–28).

Even more alarming was the populace's preference for religious authorities who expressed the truth rather than what was politically right (5:30–31). The prophet questioned them, "What will you do in the end?" knowing that their way of life would inevitably bring down God's judgement. (v.31). 

The question is still relevant today as it was back then. We must thoroughly assess our relationship with God. Do we pause long enough in our hectic lives to consider where our lives are going? If we desire God's blessing on our life, we must evaluate our attitudes and deeds in light of God's Word.

Invest some time in planning your route; else, you might not enjoy where you wind yourself. How can I elevate the significance of God's Word in my life?
