Remove falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches. — Proverbs 30:8

 Agur was well aware that wise prayer needed to be founded in reality and a desire to exalt the Almighty. Before he passed away, he prayed to God asking him to "remove falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches" (Proverbs 30:8).

Agur yearned for honesty and fulfilment. He was happy to have God disapprove anything that may make him independent and forget the Lord, or that might turn him into a thief and thus dishonour God's name (v. 9).

Agur went above and beyond. He wished for his best interests, but only if doing so would enhance God's honour. It is wise to pray in this manner.

In biblical prayer, the focus is on God's glory, not on us. We can't assume that we are always right.
when we start praying;
As a result, we must question, "What honours God?"
and seek His guidance.
