Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. — Galatians 6:2

Onesimus was a servant of Philemon. He might have been put to death for fleeing under the law. Onesimus, however, had rushed into Jesus' arms and into Paul's arms. Paul assured the escaped slave that the apostle would pay back any debts before sending him back to Philemon. Onesimus' burden was taken by Paul.

Jesus took on the suffering of the cross for us. We imitate Him and carry out His desire for our lives when we bear one another's burdens (Gal. 6:2; 1 John 3:16). Do you agree to don someone's brand-new flax shirt today?

Christ takes on our troubles so that we can take on others'. It demonstrates the love of Christ to others by taking on the heavy loads, suffering, and grief of others, and by bringing them His unfailing relief.
