Given the complete insignificance of our world, it is difficult to imagine that the cosmos' creator is concerned about the fate of the human race, which has been cruelly compared to a semi-invisible rash on the skin of a little planet in an inferior solar system.
The startling reality is that God does give a damn. David questioned, "When I consider Your heavens,... what is man that You are mindful of him?" centuries before telescopes were created. (Ps. 8:3-4). Not only does God care, but He also treats everyone with the same loving care as if we were individually the only ones in need of it. The starry sky and one person's pain are contrasted in Psalm 147:3–4: "He heals the brokenhearted and wraps up their wounds. He names each star by name and counts how many there are.
Mind-boggling! Every believer is the focus of the wisdom and the strength that support the entire cosmos. What a source of assurance and power when we feel frail and uncertain!
The one who controls the stars in outer space will undoubtedly support his saints on earth. I am the God of the stars. Lift up your eyes and look as far into eternity as a mortal can, keeping your focus on Me.
