He spoke, and it was done. — Psalm 33:9

Psalm 33 states that when He speaks, His words come to pass. For instance, verse 6 states that "the heavens were created by the word of the Lord, and all their host by the breath of His mouth." The world was created after God spoke. What a proof of God's awesomeness! It ought to serve as a reminder of the vast disparity between the Creator and His creations. We express our desires when we speak, but when God speaks, reality is made.

This wonderful reality motivates us to carry out Psalm 33:1-3's instructions to "Rejoice in the Lord," "Praise the Lord," and "Sing to Him." His words create the universe, and we must glorify Him with our words.

Today, let's move beyond merely saying, "I'm going to praise the Lord." Let's do it with both our words and our lives.

Our grateful adoration is a result of God's awesome power. God created the world with the strength of His words, and the stars were flung across the heavens. Today, in His honor, we offer our prayers and songs of praise.
