I admit that living a life of reckless spending might get you into problems. So it makes sense to practice good stewardship and shop carefully. But for other individuals, being a tightwad has a deeper significance. They develop an obsession with conserving every dollar or stockpiling items to safeguard themselves in the case of a financial disaster. They relied on their own ingenuity rather than on God and His capacity to provide for their necessities.
However much money we may store, it will never be able to match the wealth that God has. All things are his! All the wealth and silver on earth belongs to him (Hag. 2:8). He created the world and everything on it (Psalm 24:1; 50:10–11).
Yes, all of the universe's resources are available to support the One who has promised to meet our needs. And He provides generously.
