Forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. — Ephesians 4:32

Consider God's mercy and generosity in forgiving completely deserving sinners in light of Christ's immeasurably costly atonement (Rom. 5:8). Recall Jesus' words, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do" (Lk. 23:34) when He begged for His executioners. When we honestly repent and confess our transgressions, forgiveness is offered to us (1 John 1:9). Consider how Paul's instruction to "be kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you" (Eph. 4:32) is made possible by the Holy Spirit.

No new method of forgiveness is required. This time-tested approach—God's approach—really works.
