According to His mercy He saved us, . . . that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs. — Titus 3:5,7

The mercy and grace of God in salvation were both mentioned by the apostle Paul. According to him, we are justified and freed from the guilt of our sins through God's favor (Ti. 3:7). Nevertheless, he added that it is God's grace that saves us from a way of life that is "foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another" (v. 3).

Let's give thanks to God every day for His mercy and grace. Together, they offer us a full measure of salvation.

Grace and mercy are unmerited favors extended to guilty sinners. Blessed Calvary shines with the fullness of God's unfathomable love; what grace and mercy flowed to us when Jesus died on that tree!
