The apostle Peter forewarned his readers about the kinds of people who misinterpret the message of God's Word and do not approach it with sincere intentions and respect for its authority. They will be subject to God's wrath (2 Peter 3:16–17).
Without a sincere and humble reading of the Bible, we risk receiving the wrong message and being distracted from our commitment to Christ. God's Word serves as a light for us to follow. If we follow it every day, we will discover that it is a constant source of courage and reality.
It is perilous and a horrible sin to change the interpretation of God's Word to match our preconceived notions. Be careful in how you read and understand the Bible.
Never should we connect the Bible with ourselves; rather, we must do so. Send Your Spirit to me right away, Lord, so that He might open my eyes and let me see. Tell me the truth that is hidden in Your Word, and Lord, when I open Your Book, I see You there.
