It's normal to spend time daydreaming about our ideal locations or desired possessions. However, we must assess our wants to make sure they line up with what God says will truly satisfy them.
King David achieved fulfilment through prioritising the important things. His happiness was derived from the power of the Lord and the deliverance He offered (Ps. 21:1-2). God granted David's heart's desires as a result of his seeking the Lord (37:4).
We are less prone to squander time hoping for things that are unattainable when our aspirations line up with God's will. Real happiness comes from wanting to be near to God, not from achieving what we want.
Knowing that God provides for all of our needs brings us contentment. The secret to contentment is to let the Lord supply; do not worry if you lack earthly possessions because they will never satisfy.
