Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive . . . honor and glory and blessing! — Revelation 5:12

 As atheistic and oppressive governments abruptly fell apart in the late 1980s, spontaneous celebrations of freedom erupted throughout Eastern Europe. Czechoslovakia experienced one of the more extraordinary exhibitions of liberty on November 27, 1989.

At noon on that day, every church bell in the country started to ring, breaking a 45-year silence in that freedom-starved country. Both people and pigeons were startled. The enthusiasm of the occasion was encapsulated in a poster posted on the front lawn of a church in Prague. It simply said, "The Lamb Wins."

That message of victory paints a picture of the might and majesty of the Lord Jesus Christ.

He is portrayed as the Lamb who redeems us throughout the book of Revelation. A lamb symbolises kindness, yet Jesus is also the powerful Judge who will overthrow those who stand in His way.

There won't be peace under the reign of God's Messiah. Revelation 19 is rife with depictions of God's ferocious power and severe judgement. The nations will unite for a massive rebellion against God in that day (v. 19), but they will vanish in an instant (v. 21).

Lamb will triumph. Glory to the Lamb!

The Lord lives in the Lamb who died. Every heavenly knee is bowed.

To the Lamb for the death of sinners;

Every harp and voice are swelling—

The Lamb is "worthy to reign."
