Everyone needs a friend—someone they can lean on, confide in, and even cling to in dire circumstances. Family members can occasionally be pals. They may be coworkers, classmates, or neighbours at times. Having friends makes you feel appreciated and makes the days appear happier.
However, not everybody has a friend. Many people struggle with the depressing belief that no one genuinely cares about them in a unique way. It has a lonely, ominous feeling to it.
Let me offer the best friend to anyone who thinks like that—and to all of us. He is the Lord God, the One who, far more than any human acquaintance, can meet our deepest companionship requirements.

It is clear that God is our best friend when we think about everything He does for us. According to verse 14 of Psalm 145, God supports everyone who stumbles and exalts everyone who is brought down. He provides food in season and meets every living thing's appetite (vv. 15–16). God is just in all of His deeds and merciful in all of His deeds (v. 17). All who call on the Father in truth will hear from Him (v. 18). He grants the request, hears the cries, and delivers those who fear Him to safety (v. 19). And He keeps all of His lovers (v. 20).
The best friend there is is God. You can trust Him.
Only God is able to satisfy the void in a person's heart. We have a friend who will never abandon us and is closer to us than a brother. He is available to meet all of our needs, including some that no one else can.
