It's challenging to run the right way while the majority of the group is moving in the opposite direction.
Pagans in the first century had a similar response to their Christian neighbours' altered way of life. According to the apostle Peter, "They think it strange that you do not run with them in the same flood of dissipation, speaking evil of you" (1 Peter 4:4). People who are not Christians continue to believe that Christians are moving in the wrong way. But in reality, believers are on their way to a heavenly abode and the victor's crown (2 Timothy 4:7-8).
Non-Christians may think the path they take is right; nonetheless, it may result in their eternal ruin. Regardless of how many people are heading in the wrong direction, keep going straight.
Being correct is preferable to being popular. Our eternal fate depends on the path we're taking; one leads to everlasting life, while the other leads to condemnation.
