The farmer may currently be enjoying the warmth of a winter stove or shovelling snow, but he is already planning his spring planting. He's already looking forward to the times when he turns the dirt. He will sprinkle the appropriate fertilisers, remove rocks that have risen with the frost, and prepare the soil for the seed. He is aware that his crop will be better if he works more in the spring.
In the parable of the sower, Jesus utilised a verbal picture of that sort. The soil is our hearts, and the seed is God's Word. The "noble and good heart" (Lk. 8:15) accepts, holds onto, and bears fruit from the Word.
the state of our hearts? Do they have what it takes to receive the seed of
the state of our hearts? Are they ready to ingest the Word of God as seed? Or does it encounter obstacles that prevent it from developing and producing fruit? "The cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things" are three different types of thorns that appear and choke out the seed, according to Jesus (Mk. 4:19).
It's possible that you've lost interest in God's Word if it isn't well-established in your life and bearing fruit. This is because you may be too preoccupied with the riches and diversions of this world. Pull those thorns out! How carefully you prepare the soil will determine how much fruit you'll be able to harvest.
