There is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents. — Luke 15:10

Many Christians have accepted the fallacious idea that their testimony to one person doesn't mean much. But what we read in the Gospels most definitely does not support that. Jesus was never "too big" to deal with one individual at a time, even though His public career was just for a little over 3 years.

It is true that Jesus fed 5,000 people gathered by the Sea of Galilee, preached to throngs in Judea, and served the inhabitants of Capernaum. He nevertheless never forgot the worth of a single soul!

How refreshing to read about His nighttime chat with Nicodemus (John 3), His encounter with a single woman at the Samaria Well (John 4), and His genuine interest in a single tiny man named Zaccheus who was perched up in a sycamore tree (Luke 19). What a thrill it must have been for him when Jesus chose him from the crowd and said, "Zaccheus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house" (v. 5).

Remember Jesus' example if you've ever been tempted to downplay the significance of your unique, personalized witness to one single soul. According to the Bible, heaven is glad when one sinner turns to God and repents!

Never undervalue the worth of one soul. When one soul is set free, the One who created the sky and who died on Calvary rejoices with His angels.
