God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. — Galatians 6:14

The cross represented the essential essence of the apostle Paul's faith, in his eyes. It provided evidence of his drastically altered existence. According to his testimony, "God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world" (Gal. 6:14), was the only place he could find to do so.

How are you doing? Is the cross merely a symbol of faith? Or does it move you to affirm the Lord Jesus Christ's death and resurrection as Paul did in his sincere boast?

Many cross-wearers never give the cross-bearing Christ any thought. I exalt in the cross of Christ, towering above the ruins of time, and the magnificent light of sacred narrative gathers about its head.
