Imagine becoming the owner of such a magnificent home! You may have a taste of Solomon's lifestyle, which at the time included everything one could desire (Eccl. 2:10).
But keep in mind that when Solomon surrounded himself with extravagances, he also surrounded himself with emptiness (v.11). He encountered the same issues that today's For Sale signs are on thousands of homes when he lived for wealth and comfort. Divorce, drunkenness, and depression are common problems among wealthy people who have abandoned the Lord.
But in the end, Solomon realised his error (12:13–14). He returned to his original beliefs. He recalled that the beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord, and that a true dream home is any building, no matter how great or tiny, that is constructed with the knowledge of God (Proverbs 24:3).
Be wise and seek God's insight. Look away from earth's attractions for all of its pleasures will soon pass;
Do not relax until your heart proclaims, "I have Christ! What do I desire more?
