Mephibosheth . . . shall eat at my table like one of the king’s sons. — 2 Samuel 9:11

Because of this, David was happy to be courteous to Saul's grandson, who was "lame in his feet" (2 Samuel 9:3). Mephibosheth's disability may have caused some to reject him, but David's actions made it clear how much he respected the man.

Each and every person is valuable in God's eyes. He made His one and only Son our Savior. May we always be grateful for His great regard for every human life.

To God, every person is valuable. Lord, help us to see the fair imprint of Your image in everyone we encounter. Also, may their unique dignity become stronger as a result of our love and care.
