Greet Priscilla and Aquila, . . . to whom . . . I give thanks. — Romans 16:3-4

It is appropriate to mention a friend's or relative's positive traits during their funeral, but it is much preferable to express your admiration for them while they are still alive. It might be the motivation they sorely need.

The apostle Paul thanked those who had supported and encouraged him as he concluded his epistle to the Romans by publicly praising them. In addition to addressing them by name and expressing his gratitude for what they had done, he also mentioned what they had done (16:3–4). What a wonderful example for us all to follow!

Owe anyone a note of gratitude or appreciation? Don't delay doing it. Speak it now. It might be too late tomorrow!

A friendly remark should never be withheld because you never know when it will be too late.
