Such a scenario is mind-boggling. Imagine the heavens without a sky, or the earth without a sunrise. However, because our world is unaware of the full significance of Christ's advent, it is important to take this seriously, especially at Christmas.
Try to imagine the world without Christ as you reflect on this first Sunday of Advent. Without Him, how would history have turned out? What would your life be like personally without Him? Thank God history doesn't deal with ifs.
Without Christ, there would be no hope for the future. We would not have any hope beyond death and no understanding of Christ's grace if He had never descended from His throne to enter time and space.
