 We are constantly seeking out better ways to do tasks. We have greatly advanced beyond the abacus, Model-T, and Victrola, and now have quicker computers, more fuel-efficient vehicles, and better-sounding CD players. 

The superior strategy was invented by God. Animal sacrifices, according to the Hebrews author (8:5; 9:11–15), were simply a "shadow of the heavenly things" that Christ and His cross-borne death represent the actuality of. 

People anticipated the yearly Day of Atonement, when the high priest entered the Most Holy Place, long before Jesus arrived. This auspicious day is known as Yom Kippur among Jews. The High Priest sacrificed the blood of animals on behalf of himself and the Israelites at that awesome place where the ark of the covenant was situated.

Something better became apparent with the arrival of Jesus Christ on earth. He gave His life and shed His blood to atone for our crimes, becoming thereby our High Priest. Now that the price for our crimes has been paid and our guilt has been absolved, we can rejoice when we accept His offer of forgiveness. 

Only through receiving salvation from Messiah Jesus are we able to receive God's forgiveness and enjoy communion with him. Do you know of any better ways?

Christ's sacrifice fulfilled everything that God needed to atone for our sins. Oh, how beautiful the flow is.
