A retailer will advertise a well-known product at a very low price in order to draw customers into his store using the unethical bait-and-switch method of marketing. However, the buyer is informed that it is out of stock when he requests to buy it. The salesperson then makes an attempt to sell him a lower-quality product line in an effort to make a higher profit. Similar to this, a false teacher will utilise biblical terminology to pique curiosity and win listeners. He may mention things like Christ, atonement, the crucifixion, and the resurrection, but these so-called "trusted terms" are really just a ruse.

Truth is frequently used as a cover for error. What he believes about the Lord will reveal if a message is incorrect when someone claims that their message is from God.
