We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. — 2 Corinthians 5:8

In some ways, dying is similar to saying goodbye to a day. The road of life is lengthy. We grow weary. We want for the end of the pain and the completion of our labours. The night of death is coming. But praise God, daybreak is on the way! The tired Christian traveller has a great life waiting for them. According to 2 Corinthians 5:8, leaving the body means staying with the Lord eternally.

Jesus may have remarked, "I am the Bright and Morning Star" (Rev. 22:16) because He made it possible for everyone who trusts in Him to experience the magnificent dawn.

What a joy it is to know that we will live forever with Christ! In the sight of the King of kings and Lord of lords, the conclusion of life here signifies the beginning of a magnificent new day.

The Christian's life comes to an end and a far better one begins. Look past the dark night of grief; a lovely day will come, and when it does, there will be a happy tomorrow.
