All Christians are "ex-cons" who worship the One who has called us out of darkness because they have been pardoned of their sins (1 Peter 2:9). Our lives provide as compelling proof of the truth to those who speak ill of us when they are marked by honourable behaviour and excellent deeds (v. 12).
Lord, help me to show the people in my neighbourhood that they need Jesus through what I say and do.
Even the worst sinners can become the best saints through Jesus. You have been given a holy calling that calls you to be the light of the world and to hoist up the gospel lamp so that others may see the light.
