Behold, your King is coming to you, lowly, and sitting on a donkey. — Matthew 21:5

The Messiah-related prophesies in the Bible are the most amazing ones of all. The virgin birth of Christ (Isaiah 7:10–14), His death as a sacrifice (Isa. 53), and even His triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday (Zech. 9:9; Mt. 21:5) were all prophesied in the Old Testament.

What a marvellous assurance from the all-knowing God that the King who rode in on a donkey about 2,000 years ago will one day return in splendour and strength (2 Thess 1:7–10). Until then, individuals who have invited Christ to rule in their hearts will be taken care of by the same Divine Promise Keeper.

As certain as Christ's first coming, so is His second. God fulfilled His promise to send the Saviour to earth on that miraculous night, and the prophets' word that He would return to rule as King of Kings is still relevant today.
