 You can feel as like your body, spirit, or possessions are being broken today. If so, think about how God might be using it to bring about something positive. 

Consider the guidelines the Lord provided for worship in the Old Testament tabernacle. Before they could be utilised, several of the components of the holy anointing oil had to be crushed in order to unleash their scent. 

The incense being crushed serves as a metaphor for what occurred to Christ. Christ had to be "broken" before He could be our Saviour, just as incense had to be crushed before it could release its aroma.

In John 12:24, Jesus referred to Himself as the "grain of wheat". Without being "ground to flour," He could not have become the Bread of Life.

Do you know that your only hope for salvation is via Christ's death? He could only atone for your sin by having His body pierced and allowing His blood to gush out. There is no salvation except from the shedding of blood (Heb. 9:22).

Have you sought forgiveness from Jesus? Are you cleansed by the Lamb's blood? If you have, you can be confident that God can use your own brokenness to release a fragrance that exalts Him.

 

Sometimes God must destroy us in order to rebuild us. Please grant me the ability to never fail Thy hand of sight and the ability to ever lay my care on Thee should Thy kindness send me grief, toil, and woe or should suffering accompany me on my road below.
