It would be a tragedy of everlasting proportions to enjoy all the earthly blessings, pleasures, and advantages without also recognising the heavenly Giver! The Bible makes it quite apparent that our ungraciousness will only assure our ultimate destiny and misery if we do not react to God's gracious gifts by honouring the heavenly Benefactor (Rom. 2:4–10).
We need to have the bigger Gift—Jesus Christ—in order to recognise and utilise these lesser gifts from God. The essence of all great blessings is to know Him. "Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!" must be the first words that come from the hearts of all those who give thanks. (2 Cor. 9:15).
First, give thanks to God for His greatest gift before appreciating His other blessings. We glorify You in relation to Jesus Christ;
His love will shine for all of eternity!
