Let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good. — 1 Peter 4:19

Betrayal is one of the worst trials we go through in our service to God.

Jesus was aware of treachery. He gave His 12 disciples, one of whom was Judas, a three-year investment in their life. He had learned from Jesus, seen him witness miracles, and even had his feet washed. Judas, however, exchanged his loyalty for 30 pieces of silver. In John 13:18, Jesus foretold of His own betrayal, quoting David, who had previously experienced the betrayal of a friend (Ps. 41:9).

Jesus carried out the Father's instructions while knowing that He would be betrayed. He set an example for us, teaching us to serve others out of love and obedience to God, not out of a desire for praise.

Has someone betrayed you? Take solace in the knowledge that pursuing God's plan will bring about true fulfillment.

Let God handle it if you've been betrayed. Remember Christ's rejection and all He did for you when others reject you in spite of everything you do.
