The apostle Paul highlighted in today's Bible reading that Christ-followers should have heavenly-mindedness rather than earthly-mindedness (Col. 3:1–2). Which one it will be is up to us.
Selfish, earthbound ideas can make us give in, clouding our vision of everything past the tip of our noses. Alternatively, we can look past this wicked picture and direct our focus upward, where Christ is seated at God's right hand and we are with Him. Then—and only then—will we be able to recognize what matters most in life.
Sin and holiness like that of Christ can only be rejected by a mind that is focused on things above. We have an option.
Concentrating on Christ is the only way to see life with clarity. Help me to pray and watch, and let me depend on You. Never let me violate my trust, but rather push me to higher horizons.
