A particular historical name may inspire a range of reactions. Hitler, for instance, makes people feel disrespectful. The opposite is true when a revered historical person like Churchill is mentioned. Even among our own circle of acquaintances, we remember some people with gratitude while we recall others unfavorably whose lives were lived for selfish ends.
We take a moment on this Memorial Day to remember those from earlier eras. Although our thoughts are filled with numerous moving memories, we are aware that the day will come when each of us will also be a memory. What will come to mind when people think of us in terms of our words and deeds?
What a wonderful tribute! Decide to live for the Lord and to serve others' needs by the grace of God. Then everyone who follows in your footsteps will find blessing and inspiration from your testimony.
Will people remember you favorably or negatively? What have you jotted down in your memory?
actions carried out in the Master's name?
words uttered to advance His reputation?
Just what did you write today?
