Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. — 1 Corinthians 15:20

Job, the patriarch, had his confidence in God as a base. He had contradictory emotions—dread, despair, and hope—when he was in pain and believed that death would come soon. There were moments when it appeared as though God was against him. But he persisted in his belief that the Lord is just and loves His people. Hope ultimately prevailed over despair!

Those who must deal with death in their youth or prime years find it an intrusive presence. However, even in these circumstances, people who follow Christ gain the grace to pass away in hope.

Jesus' resurrection is one of history's best-documented occurrences, and it serves as the foundation for our faith. Furthermore, when we "trust and obey," our faith in Him increases and hope prevails over apprehension and despair.

Living without God is akin to passing away without hope. When faced with the temptation to give up, the Christian will instead choose to put his hope in the Lord and his trust in His unwavering word.
