Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it. — Psalm 81:10

 The verse in Psalm 81:10 that reads, "I am the Lord your God... ; open your mouth wide, and I will fill it" comes to mind as I reflect on those childhood memories. However, the Israelites rejected God's kind offer, and He "gave them over to their own stubborn heart, to walk in their own counsels" (v. 12). The Bible states that if they had accepted God's offer, "He would have fed them also with the finest of wheat; and with honey from the rock" (v. 16).

God yearns to nourish us spiritually. As we study His Word, participate in group worship, hear from obedient Bible teachers, read books with uplifting spiritual themes, and depend on Him every day, He will also sate our spiritual hunger.

We will suffer spiritual hunger and fail to develop if we reject God's provisions. But rest assured that if we open our mouths widely, God will fill them.

Let God fill you if you want a life of fulfillment.

The Savior is absolutely satiating.

the heart that the world is unable to satisfy;

His presence will completely sanctify.

the surrendered and calm soul.
