Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth? — Galatians 3:1

It served as yet another example of how others have the ability to alter our perspective. We painstakingly teach our kids appropriate speech patterns, yet even that can be undone by the impact of one friend.

Consider the impact of this idea on far more significant decisions. Think about Ahaziah from 2 Chronicles. His mother influenced him to act improperly (v. 3). The outcome was that "He did evil in the sight of the Lord" (v. 4). Ahaziah undoubtedly benefited from the guidance of his righteous grandpa Jehoshaphat, but it was Athaliah's malevolent influence that set him on the wrong path.

We are easily tricked! In order to avoid being influenced by negative people or things, we must have a close relationship with our Father, the origin of all that is good and right.

Carefully select your friends since you don't want to end up like them. Make sure the people you trust are guided by God every day; if they follow the devil, they might mislead you.
