If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. — Matthew 5:29

It might not be harmful to consume some treats, especially ones that are marketed as "lite," "cholesterol-free," or "low calorie." However, there isn't such a thing as "light lust" or "low-calorie greed." Any form and quantity of lust, greed, or sin is evil.

Christians who are committed to pleasing the Lord will constantly assess and evaluate their inner reasons and ideas. They will acknowledge and repent of using greed as a driving force to acquire ever-greater wealth. They will also work to discipline their thoughts and deeds.

A few "lite" desserts are welcome. But resist the temptation to believe that as long as sin is practiced in moderation, it is acceptable.

Both moderation in sin and moderation in death are impossible. O Lord, enlighten us when we start to compromise and grant us the courage to stick to what we know to be right and true.
