Only a few days prior, those of the Jews who gathered to see Jesus' trial had been so positively impacted by His words and conduct that they acclaimed Him as their Messiah (Lk. 19:28–40). Then, when public opinion began to change, they heard their religious authorities accuse Him of being a forger and a blasphemer. They concurred with the call for Jesus to be crucified despite hearing the Roman governor claim that he could find no fault with Him. They rejected Pilate's assertion of Jesus' innocence.
If only they had considered the evidence. Jesus had spoken to them, they had witnessed His miracles, and they had seen His goodness.
A civil law expert Roman governor was unable to identify anything wrong with Him. Furthermore, their religious leaders were unable to provide even the most basic proof of their accusations.
The New Testament testimony of Jesus' followers is available to us now. They were highly credible guys who gave their lives to uphold their religion. The positive changes that Christ is bringing about in our own lives are equally convincing. Despite having no valid argument to make against Jesus, those who reject Him continue to live in slavery to their sins.
Look at the proof! Who will you trust?
Knowing the truth is knowing Christ. Jesus is still being tried.—
