In today's Scripture, we read Joseph's interpretation of a trying situation that had initially seemed like a major catastrophe. After being dropped into a pit, he was later sold as a slave. His faith was put to the test in this situation, which from a human perspective seemed more like a terrible act of injustice than a source of providential favor. Joseph would subsequently discover, however, that "God meant it for good" (Gen. 50:20).
Do you find yourself navigating the choppy waters of difficulty and disappointment? Does it seem like everything is working against you? These ostensible setbacks are not coincidences. Such occurrences are permitted by the Lord for a beneficial reason. Therefore, trust Him patiently. If you know the Lord, you will one day give thanks to Him for everything!
