Many people who claim to be the men and women of Christ resemble those imprisoned eagles. They are designed to live as free heavenly citizens, but their own sin has imprisoned them. God's heart must be broken by how they are. He is aware of what they are capable of becoming, but they have imprisoned themselves. The irony is that the cage's doors are open.
According to the apostle Paul, those of us who have trusted in Christ have perished with Him from the sin that bound us in our former lives. And He has made us living today. We are not the same people we once were. As a result, we must alter the way we approach life.
Consider such truths in depth. Keep coming back to them. You have been set free by Christ! You weren't intended to be kept in a cage. Admit your sin and place new faith in God. You were built for the sky.
Christ is the key that unlocks the sinful prison. Lord, I thank You for salvation and Your abundant and unmerited mercy. Please accept my whole consecration and exalt Yourself in me.
