God doesn't value us more or less in relation to our occupation, financial situation, place of residence, or children's scholastic achievements. God made us, and His Son died for us, so that we would have value and dignity. He values how much we trust Him and the work we perform for His benefit.
According to Jesus, people who follow Him will be rewarded for their commitment and faith regardless of their position on earth (Matthew 19:16–30). There will also be a lot of shocks when God distributes the rewards (v. 30).
Lord, enable us to judge others' worth and our own by Your standards rather than by our own.
Anyone who aspires to fulfill God's will is not a failure. God responds, "My child, do not despair, for you alone are made like Me, And in Christ's death you fully share," even though sin distorted the crown of creation.
